MURAL ARTIST X professional live painter

ART THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

ART THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

my name is presley.

I am a self-taught mural artist with an undeniable passion for community. Here, art is more than a commodity; art is a connection. I started as an artist in my basement, painting on the back of jean jackets as gifts for my friends.

Now, I scale the sides of buildings and paint live in front of hundreds of people at a time. My portfolio ranges from major league baseball teams like the Detroit Tigers to well-known universities like Michigan State, and everything in between.

A cornerstone of my work is involving the people around me in my process through holding community mural painting events for my clients. This drives individuals to come together and businesses to increase sales by pouring into their local market with an unforgettable experience.

In 2025, I took on the largest project of my career. Working alongside my local government officials with the help of a grant from the Michigan Fitness Foundation, I painted seven crosswalks in Monroe, MI.

The project took place over the entire month of August and transformed the city into a functional piece of art.

ART THAT protects.

CROSSWALK MURALS IN MONROE, MICHIGAN

walk this way: community crosswalk murals for pedestrian safety

To kick off the project, the first crosswalk of the installation was a community mural event. This is where I invite all of the locals to help me paint the mural. The mural painting event was held in unison with a public concert. During mural painting events open to the public, I prepare spots for kids and adults of all ages to help me fill in. Once the public painting time ends, I go through the mural and add all finishing touches in front of the crowd.

Community mural painting events are important to me because they give the community ownership of the art. The art serves as a bridge between individuals who come from all corners of the area to be a part of this big project. Community mural painting events unite people with other people and with the art itself. That way, whenever they pass the mural and see it, they can think, “Hey, I did that!” My goal with community events is to make the task of painting so simple that anyone can be a part of the process.
